Executive Chef – Jeana Allen – Jeana has an absolute gift for creating fun and exciting new dishes, and she always cooks with her heart. She has an authenticity to her food because she cares about the details and making sure every dish is consistent, delicious, quality. Jeana enjoys playing with different vegan preparations, and brings some exciting new ideas for our upcoming wine/beer dinners. I am thrilled to work with my first female chef and I can’t wait to see how we will grow the restaurant together!
Owner – Mandy Harvey – I have worked at restaurants all over the Midwest since I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2000. We opened the Crane & Pelican in 2009 and I’m still learning new things everyday. I truly enjoy working with people and creating memorable experiences for our guests. I adore the Mississippi river and will gladly talk local history with anyone who will listen. The Crane & Pelican gives me the opportunity to share some of my families recipes and create some new family heirloom recipes! I have two kids, Rhett & Willa, that I adore and occasionally can be found making a mess or too much noise in the restaurant. I have put my heart and soul into this building. Blood, sweat, and tears. I hope that it brings joy into the world. I insist that every guest get treated like family, and I am so lucky to have an amazing staff that I also treat like family.
